Statement of Faith

CELA is a Christian Academy meant to complement the home and church ministries of the children we serve. As a Christian Academy, we will create an environment, an educational program, and a committed group of people (students, families and staff) which together will support the spiritual growth of our students with the hope of deepening their relationship with Jesus. We will focus on working with our students to discover their God-given identity, talents and purpose while developing their maximum potential to perform in all aspects of their lives as leaders. As an Academy, we respect the critical role of parents and churches in further developing the faith and beliefs of children. Therefore, it will not be our goal to teach specific doctrine affiliated with one specific denomination. Rather, we will stay focused on the core Christian teachings and stories of Scripture meant to complement the home and congregation in the areas of faith-formation, developing Christian character and a set of Christian values to guide the way they live their life.

Children at CELA will grow in the unconditional love of Jesus and His work as their Savior. It is our desire that the faculty and families of CELA will lead the students as we together grow in our faith, become stronger in spirit and character, increase our knowledge of Christ as our Lord and Savior, and live out our faith in our academic, personal, and everyday lives in ways that honor and please God. Therefore, the following core beliefs are set forth as the basic guiding Christian principles of our program:

  • We believe there is one living and true God; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God creates, upholds, and governs all.
  • We believe in God the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth.
  • We believe in Jesus Christ who died for our sins that we may have eternal life.
  • We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within our hearts and minds and produces in us the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
  • We believe that we all are sinners and that all who believe in Jesus are redeemed children of God because Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.
  • As children of God we are created and redeemed to do good work and are called to perform accordingly by loving God and loving our neighbor.
  • We believe that those who have faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior will rise from the dead to everlasting life in heaven and those who do not have faith in Christ will rise to eternal death in hell.
  • We believe the maturing Christian regularly reads and reflects on God’s Word, communicates with God in prayer, worships God regularly with other Christians, and shares the reason for his/her hope with others in love and respect.
