Hello and blessings to all! My name is Amy Lange, and I am elated to join the CELA staff and community. I completed my undergraduate degree from UW-Milwaukee with a BS in Elementary/Early Childhood Education and a minor in music. I began teaching young children straight out of college and worked in public and private school systems. Recently I felt a calling to go back to school and completed my MS in Educational Psychology with a focus on social-emotional development within school settings.
My parents instilled a strong faith during my upbringing. This was further strengthened by my father returning to school to become an ordained deacon upon his retirement from public sector work. Although I have taught in urban and suburban environments, my fondest teaching moments were those spent in Christian educational settings, shaping the lives of young children. I view being an early childhood educator as a gift. Each day I strive to provide engaging hands-on learning opportunities that promote the whole personal growth of every child, intellectually and emotionally.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with friends and my busy growing family. Of particular importance are my husband, three children, and a new grandchild! Our two dogs also keep me on my toes as they are energetic fur babies themselves.
I firmly believe that children learn best through a personal relationship with their teacher and regular open parent communication. Each day, every child should leave class happy, having learned something new and feeling truly cared about. I am humbled to be a part of the CELA family, and thank you for entrusting me with your most precious little ones.
