My name is Monica Cinnamon, and I am so excited to be joining the CELA team as the middle school science teacher. With over 20 years of experience in various educational roles, I am happy to be returning to my first love – helping students understand and explore science! Although my background is in chemistry, I have experience teaching many different physical and biological sciences. I enjoy engaging my students in hands-on activities that promote collaborative learning and critical thinking and allow them to really experience and immerse themselves in science. With CELA’s amazing laboratory facilities and natural space, the opportunities for research and experiments are endless, and I can’t wait to have some science fun!

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful and supportive family - my husband, Shaun, my son, Mitchell, and our two orange tabby cats, Optimus and Bumblebee. We enjoy spending time outdoors, going to movies or concerts, and attending sporting events together. When I get the opportunity for a little me time, I enjoy working on my photography or reading a good mystery novel.

I feel truly blessed to have this opportunity to return to teaching and work with all of you, the CELA families. I look forward to meeting you and partnering with you to support your child in his or her educational journey.
