A graduate of the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with an emphasis in Coaching. I was born and raised in Eagle River, WI, moving to Milwaukee in 1994 to join the faculty at University School of Milwaukee in the Physical Education department teaching grades Pre-kindergarten-8th grade. During my tenure at this extremely competitive prep school I deftly led various athletic programs as Head Coach - Varsity Track and Field, Head Coach - Junior Varsity Volleyball, and Assistant Coach - Varsity Volleyball. Most recently, I taught Physical Education at a small local Christian School and served as Head Coach of middle school Volleyball for the past 12 years.
I draw upon a lifetime of athletic endeavors and competitive pursuits with figure skating as a life-long passion since my earliest days. I advanced to the competitive level and later coached skating professionally for over 12 years. Hailing from Lake Country in Northern Wisconsin, I also have a passion for the water and spent summers performing as a show skier and competing in water skiing at the State and National level. Additionally, I am a USA Swimming certified coach and a member of the American Swim Coaches Association, most recently coaching at the Club level at the Pabst Farms YMCA in Oconomowoc since 2013.
I have a very positive outlook on life, being blessed in so many ways, so I am very pragmatic about even the most challenging athletic situations and environments. A graduate of Northland Pines in Eagle River, I participated in Volleyball and Track. I also competed at a collegiate level in tennis, volleyball and track and field. As a member of the UW- La Crosse Track team my career ended prematurely in a hurdling fall which devastated my knee. Through years of technically demanding athletic pursuits and harnessing the hard lessons learned through adversity, I have honed a keen ability to dissect technical skill while understanding the mental challenges all students and athletes must overcome to excel.
Remembering my blessings, I bring an all things are possible attitude to my service roles as well, serving in leadership roles at Holy Trinity Lutheran School, championing and leading one of the most successful and well attended scholastic chess programs.
I believe that personal stewardship through physical activity creates opportunities to grow in personal knowledge, allows us to inspire and lead, and fosters self confidence in thanksgiving to God no matter our gifts or talents. I feel blessed to join the faculty at CELA, and I am excited to use my gifts to create a loving atmosphere of inspiration and aspiration.
I have been blessed beyond imagination with four wonderful children, Michael 18, Ele 16 Gabrielle 13, and Andrew 11. I have called the Oconomowoc area my home since 1999 and enjoy living on Nashotah Lake.
