  • 20+ Years’ Teaching Experience in a Christian School Setting

Hello to all of you! I am eager to introduce myself. My name is Laura Baker, and this is my first year at CELA. For the past twenty-one years, I have been a Christian elementary school teacher, but felt that the Lord was calling me to serve in a different capacity. It was evident that He wanted me to be a part of CELA, this wonderful community of Christian people. What a blessing! I look forward to being a part of the CELA team and meeting each one of you.

My childhood home was just outside of Delafield. As a child and teenager, I was privileged to attend Mount Calvary Lutheran School in Waukesha for my elementary school years. Once I graduated eighth grade, I attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee. I feel that the quality Christian education I received at both schools helped me in making my decision to be an elementary Lutheran school teacher. Being able to have both of my parents as teachers helped that decision, too! I attended Concordia University in Mequon and earned a Bachelors’ Degree in Lutheran Elementary Education.

My husband, Brad, and I made our home in Watertown. We have two sons, Dayne (15) and Noah (20), and two mischievous cats! Our family enjoys vacationing, bike riding, and camping.

I firmly believe that the Lord led me here to be a part of CELA’s mission. It is my goal to connect families and the surrounding communities to this amazing school. I am thrilled to be a part of the CELA family and thank you for the opportunity to work here.
