My name is Randy Hake and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of a team that wants the best for our families in the areas that really matter, growing in faith as they follow Christ, academic excellence, and learning how to be effective leaders. CELA is truly unique because of these values instilled in the students. I am blessed to be here and to be a part of it! It's also exciting to see what God will do as He grows the band here at CELA...one talented student at a time!
As far as my background, I met my wife (Lori) while at UWEC. She was a vocal major and me, instrumental. I graduated one week before we got married. Life went real fast from then on! I just blinked and we are married 35 years! We have three great (grown up) kids. All of them are wonderful instrumentalists and our oldest teaches flute.
While life was going fast, our faith was not. We were just trying to make it through day-to-day. Our middle child, at 10 years old, approached us with the question, “Are we ever going to go to church?” She had friends and some family members attending church and I think she wanted to be with them. It did get us thinking that we needed to attend, not just a church, but to our faith, not just for us but for our kids. We started going to church and God showed us His love in so many ways and through so many years and He continues to show His grace and His love! We have been active as a family, in our church, music, and our faith ever since. We can't imagine life without the love of Christ in it.
I don't think it's a coincidence that I am at CELA. Two months ago I retired from my orchestra director position at Spring Creek Church thinking I would have more “free time”. Well, God had other plans. I received a call from CELA and also what I know is a call-ING from God. I couldn't be more happy to work in a place that is aligned with those things that I think are so important for our families, our kids and for our world!
As far as my “spare time” I enjoy listening to music (obviously), playing my horn, camping, and being a grandpa.
I can't wait to get started and to see how God works at CELA, this year, and every year in the future!
