15 Years Teaching Experience in 3K-5th Grade
My name is Jennifer Ellis and I will be teaching at the Christian Education Leadership Academy this year. I am very eager to embark on another year teaching at an elementary school level, and feel blessed to have the opportunity to work in a partnership with both you and your children.
I have been teaching 3k through fifth grade for 15 years, starting at Quadgraphics Daycare. I taught in a three-year-old classroom for three years as well as worked with children ages birth to five years, taking part in both the 4K and 5K program at Quadgraphics. I enjoy helping my older students become responsible, independent and excited learners, and my younger students learn daily through play and exploration. I graduated with an early childhood degree from Waukesha County Technical College and a major in elementary education from Carroll University. I am currently attending Concordia University to obtain a master’s degree and reading license.
Reading is my passion and I have been tutoring students in reading for seven years. My goal is to make all of my students love reading! If they love to read, I feel it is easier to find success in every subject. I enjoy watching students progress from learning to read, into those who read to learn.
I have a wonderful eighteen-year-old daughter, Taylor, who will be attending University WI Milwaukee this fall. She plans to major in nursing. Since she was in kindergarten, I have been very active in her schools as well as a coach for the Sussex/Lisbon Youth Baseball Association for years. When my daughter and I are not busy with school, we love playing the Wii, hiking, kayaking and watching movies.
I am looking forward to meeting you and I am very excited to meet your children. I can’t wait to start planning activities to develop students’ creative skills and spiritual interests. I hope to make this academic year, an educational as well as a fun-filled year.
