My name is Gina Perone and I feel blessed to introduce myself as CELA’s new 4th Grade teacher. Born and raised in Wisconsin, I graduated from Homestead High School in Mequon. From the time I first attended a Wisconsin football game as a girl, I knew I wanted to be a Badger! So, I was honored to graduate from UW-Madison in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and again in 1991 with a Masters of Business Administration. After graduation, I moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where I directed marketing and sales campaigns in the telecom industry. A decade later, I returned to Wisconsin and launched my own consulting firm called Wingspan. Though I enjoyed my business career, I realized it was time to make a change from working with products to working with people. So I returned to school and earned a degree in elementary education. Concurrent with my teacher preparation program, I was a guest teacher at many schools in the Arrowhead district. In fact, I recently completed a semester-long position in 4th Grade where I was excited to have a robot in my classroom! Besides being a teacher, I love being a mom to my daughter Arianna (16) and my son Anakin (12). Cheering them on at all their events keeps me busy. I also have a Havanese dog named Presley. During my “down time”, I enjoy scrapbooking and reading. I am thrilled to be part of CELA’s incredible and inspirational community!
