Tuition Philosophy/Structure

The dream of CELA is to provide a world-class academy that will combine the highest level of academic excellence with Christian values and leadership development to prepare leaders for the future in all walks of life. To accomplish this goal, CELA needs to be sustainable on an ongoing basis while being affordable to the student body.  The vision of CELA also needs to be accomplished rapidly in order to be the success CELA wants it to be.

To provide the affordability, the approximately 60-acre campus along with the 170,000 square foot facility is being provided to CELA by the Nahey Charitable Foundation at a zero-cost triple-net lease, which allows CELA to provide an ongoing tuition credit of $5,000 for each student on an annual basis. This credit will be subtracted from the tuition, which has been set at $14,750 per student (in grades 5K-8th grade) per year, resulting in a discounted tuition of $9,750.

Scholarship Opportunities:

Founding Student Scholarship Program

Additionally, in an effort to start the academy rapidly and to be able to attract the group of like-minded families to demonstrate the potential of the children and academy, the Co-Founders of CELA, Brian and Nancy Nahey, have provided a Founding Student Scholarship of $4,000 for each student enrolled in grades 5K-8 at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. The net tuition per student for the first year was $5,750.  The Founding Student Scholarship is to reward the founding students and their families for establishing the performance and credibility of the academy. Each founding student will continue to receive this yearly Founding Student Scholarship, which will be reduced by $400 each year for as long as the student attends CELA.  In other words, in the 2016-2017 school year the Founding Student Scholarship for each founding student is $3,600; for the 2017-2018 school year it will be $3,200; and so on. See the following example:

Tuition for 4K is $4,000 per student.  All 4K students enrolled in the 2015-2016 school year were considered founding students but were not enrolled in the Founding Student Scholarship Program until their second year at CELA, in which case the scholarship for 2016-2017 is $3,600 for all founding students.  (See 2016-2017 example above.)

Founding Family Scholarship Program

The Founding Family Scholarship Program is an additional scholarship opportunity that has been developed to continue the rewards for a founding family of CELA.  A founding family is one who had a student enrolled at CELA for the 2015-2016 academic year and who has children who were not old enough to enroll in the founding year; 2015-2016.  As the siblings of a founding student enroll in 5K at CELA, they will enter the Founding Family Scholarship Program and the scholarship amount for the new student will be the same as the Founding Student Scholarship for that given year.  For example, if a sibling of a founding student enrolls in 5K in the 2017-2018 school year, the scholarship available to both students from that family will be $3,200 and the net tuition for each student from that family will be $6,550.  (See 2017-2018 example above.)

Expansion Student Scholarship Program

For our first year at CELA, we intentionally capped our enrollment at two sections per grade to allow for a greater focus on a successful launch. The launching of the academy has been extremely successful and we owe much to our founding students and families who have established the credibility of the academy by demonstrating their ability to learn, lead and excel through the emphasis on CELA’s three pillars: Academic Excellence, Christian Values and Leadership Development.

To maximize the development, growth and opportunities of our students it is our desire to grow our CELA family of like-minded individuals, including staff, students, and parents. The successes experienced in our founding year led us to the decision to expand our student enrollment. The vision for CELA and what can be accomplished with 21st century education will continue to thrive and impact more children and families as we grow. Having a homogeneous consistent body of students year to year will minimize distractions to the learning and cultural development process. With that goal in mind, a scholarship opportunity exists for new students enrolling in the 2016-2017 and the 2017-2018 academic years.

Similar in structure to the Founding Student/Family Scholarship, the co-founders of CELA, Brian and Nancy Nahey, are providing a $3,000 Expansion Student Scholarship for each student newly enrolled in grades 5K-8 for the 2016-2017 school year. This $3,000 is in addition to the $5,000 ongoing Founder’s Credit from the Nahey Charitable Foundation. This scholarship is to reward the students and families who will continue to establish and enhance the performance and credibility of CELA. Each expansion student will continue to receive this yearly scholarship, which will be reduced by $400 each year, for as long as the student attends CELA. In 2017-2018 we are again offering this scholarship opportunity for new students and the Expansion Student Scholarship for each student will be $2,600. See the following example:

4K Half-Day vs. 4K Full-Day

In the 2016-2017 school year, we are piloting a full-day 4K kindergarten session in addition to our normal half-day session. Due to the fact that this is a pilot (or test) program, tuition for both the half-day and full-day session is $4,000 per student. Based on the  great performance of our full-day 4K students after only one semester of the pilot program, we have decided that a full-day 4K session will be an option in 2017-2018 and in future years.

All students enrolled in the full-day 4K program will be considered expansion students; therefore, they will pay the same expansion student rate as the other full-day students in 5K through 8th grade and will receive the Expansion Student Scholarship which is $2,600 for the 2017-2018 school year. The tuition for the 2017-2018 school year for our half-day session will continue to be $4,000 per student.
